Day 2, Part 2: Holiday World

Got to HW around 1:00, figured I could stay until around 3 and still make it to St. Louis in time to ride all the coasters there. HW has 1/2 price admission for ACE members, so another discounted park admission. Took advantage of the new "free soda all day" policy, as it was really, really hot and humid. I don't know how people in the midwest deal with this kind of summer. The park was pretty empty, so I managed to get a lot of rides in.

The Legend (, 3 out of 4)

Gerstlauers! Damn them. Here's another top-10 contender hamstrung with these awful coaches. I rode the Legend in almost every seat, multiple times in the front and back. Pretty smooth, but not great for a brand new ride. Great first drop, lots of airtime. Lots and lots of lateral Gs, a couple of nice airtime pops, 4 short tunnels, twisting layout. After an hour and a half riding this, I headed over to the Raven. Mmmmm.

The Raven (, 4 out of 4)

What can I say? A top-5 ride. Smooth, loads of air, great laterals, fabulous drop into the mist, PTCs.

Again, 1st drop
with a bit of the
Gerstlauer showing

Nice curves!
